Big Aloha’s Ali’i Cove Restaurant
The Big Aloha’s Ali’i Cove Restaurant in Universal City has long been a local favorite, serving authentic Hawaiian comfort food with heart and hospitality. Known for generous portions, warm service, and island-style ambiance, the restaurant attracted a loyal following through word of mouth and a single Facebook page.
While their food and service spoke volumes, Ali’i Cove lacked an official website, which meant no online menu, no easy access to hours or location, and no platform for broader marketing efforts. With increasing demand for online visibility and mobile search, relying on Facebook alone was limiting their growth and outreach—especially to new customers unfamiliar with the area or the brand.
To help Ali’i Cove grow beyond Facebook and reflect the warmth of their in-person experience online, we designed and launched a brand-new website in just five weeks. The goal was clear: create a fast, mobile-friendly site that captures the feel of home in Hawai’i while enabling easy access to key information like menus, location, and hours.
The design leaned heavily into the essence of island life—lush imagery, ocean-inspired colors, and native textures to echo the hospitality and food that define the brand. We integrated their brand story throughout the site with photos of their dishes, cultural references, and subtle nods to their roots in Hawai’i. The homepage was structured to immediately evoke familiarity and warmth, and we made sure users could quickly find what they needed—whether ordering online or planning a visit.
More than just a website, this project became a reintroduction of Ali’i Cove to the community. The new branding helped strengthen their identity and gave them a professional online presence that matched the quality of their food and service. Local customers could now share the site with friends, and out-of-town visitors could discover the restaurant more easily through Google and other search platforms.
The result: a fresh digital foundation rooted in culture, built with purpose, and designed to grow with them.
